J. Benjamin Stevens

(864) 598-9172

Aggressive, creative, and compassionate are words Ben Stevens’ colleagues freely use to describe him. While Ben is an experienced trial lawyer, it takes much more than technical proficiency to be an effective attorney. A quality attorney must also be able to understand his clients’ problems and to understand the emotional and human nature of the issues faced by people going through a crisis following a serious injury. At the same time, however, a good attorney navigates the most direct path to a fair resolution of his client’s case. Ben possesses a tremendous ability to be simultaneously understanding and effective.

Ben is a lifelong resident of South Carolina. He graduated cum laude from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science in Financial Management and a minor in Accounting. At Clemson, Ben was an active member of Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity, serving as its chapter President during his Senior year. He then obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law, and he has practiced law in Spartanburg, South Carolina ever since. Ben’s undergraduate background in business has proved particularly helpful in cases involving complex financial issues.

Ben is an member of the following organizations: Spartanburg County Bar, South Carolina Bar, American Bar Association, South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association, Association of Trial Lawyers in America, and Christian Legal Society. Ben is an active member of the Personal Injury Sections of the South Carolina Bar, American Bar Association, South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association, and Association of Trial Lawyers in America.

Ben is happily married, and his wife teaches history at the Spartanburg Day School. The Stevens have two children (a son and a daughter), and they are active members of the First Presbyterian Church in Spartanburg and other local organizations. Ben is an active member of IPTAY, and he and his family are avid supporters of Clemson University athletics. As a husband and father of two, he has excellent insight into the problems and challenges faced by today’s families who experience a serious injury.
